CUBISM

Cubism isn't about being square. Actually, it's quite the opposite. I actually find that cubism actually makes art more interesting and witty. Painters, like Picasso and Braque, developed a style of painting called cubism. They were young artists from the bold Parisian group called the Cubists.

Cezanne played with the idea that objects in his paintings were broken down to the basic of geometric shapes. His paintings inspired Picasso to experiment with, create, and look at art in a totally different manner. He created art that challenged the viewer's perception of art.

The figures and objects that Picasso and Braque painted or drew can be seen in more than one way and can be showing all the sides of an object at once. Playing with the different perspectives all in the same painting usually creating an optical illusion. So, if you think that an object in the painting that you are looking might be somthing else, it might be.
